We need your help
Find answers to the most common questions about JomeStay, our mission, and how your support creates real impact. Whether you’re booking a stay, donating, or partnering with us, this section will guide you with clarity and confidence.
A social enterprise is a business that trades for a social purpose. Unlike a traditional hotel or Airbnb. The Jomestay Project exists to fund the mission of Enabling Resilience (eR) CIC. While we provide a premium travel experience, the majority of our profits are legally locked to support homelessness prevention for need-help families and new reverts to Islam in the UK.
The answer depends largely on your intention of travel and what you want to experience as an ethically conscious traveller visiting this Muslim-majority country. If you want to visit Singapore then we recommend staying at one of our JomeStay participating Sanctuaries in Johor Bahru (JB).
Absolutely. We designed this sanctuary to make this fundraiser facilitate stress-free Halal "trips and travel" where "Halal" is the default, not the "option" our traveling donors and supporters have to hunt for.
Each Jomestay site includes:
- Clearly marked Qibla direction.
- Prayer mats and a word4word Quran.
- A "Halaal/Deeni-Navigator" guide to local mosques, certified restaurants, and family-friendly and revert-friendly itineries
- Kitchen environment kept strictly Halal.
- Privacy and security that's suitable for families, sisters, brothers, and business people.
We operate on a "Stay to Save" model. After operational costs, 60% of our profits are transferred to our UK Eviction Prevention Fund. These funds pay for the literal "moving parts" of our "5-Pillar Roadmap"—such as hiring removal vans, paying for emergency furniture storage, and providing expert legal advocacy for families in crisis.
While our support services in the UK often focus on Muslims and new reverts (who may lack that traditional family safety net during an eviction), our Jomestay in Malaysia is open to everyone. We especially welcome those who want their vacation (holiday) spending to have a deeper, ethical impact by funding eR CIC eviction support (vocation).
Yes! You can book at Jomestay sanctuaries located at the Tanjung Puteri area, directly connected to the Johor-Singapore Causeway. You can walk via a covered link-bridge to the CIQ (Customs) and be in Singapore via bus or train in minutes. We provide full guidance on how to navigate the border crossing smoothly.
Yes. Enabling Resilience (eR) CIC is a UK-registered and UK-regulated Community Interest Company (Company No. 15550272). As a UK Community Interest Company (CIC), our fundraiser is not just inspiring but also legally airtight. UK laws ensure our assets and profits are used for the community benefit we have defined in our charter.
You can contribute directly to our mission through our LaunchGood campaign or our website’s donation portal. Your contributions fund the same "5-Pillar Roadmap," providing immediate relief to families facing eviction.
